A dedicated and detail-oriented laboratory technician to support our science teachers in their day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample preparation, equipment maintenance, data collection, and ensuring that all activities comply with regulatory and safety standards, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples for analysis and conduct routine tests under the direction of a senior scientist.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as spectrometers, microscopes, pH meters, and centrifuges.
- Record and analyze data with accuracy, maintaining proper documentation for all experimental procedures and results.
- Ensure laboratory supplies and consumables are well-stocked and maintained.
- Follow strict internal protocols and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and proper waste disposal.
- Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
- Participate in laboratory meetings and provide insights and updates on ongoing experiments.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Laboratory Technician Skills and Requirements:
- A science degree is not always necessary, although good qualifications in appropriate scientific subjects (for example, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, life/medical/physical sciences) will be advantageous. Relevant practical laboratory work experience can also be beneficial.
